We are delighted to announce that we now deliver Mental Health First Aid and Paediatric First Aid courses.

We have been busy working on several new courses that focus on mental health and pediatric first aid. We will be offering both open courses from our dedicated training centre, where you can book one or more delegate places, or as closed courses.  Typically we come to a venue of your choice to deliver closed courses and you can usually elect up to 12 delegates to attend.

Paediatric First Aid
The Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid qualification provides learners with the first aid skills they require to enter into the children’s workforce. The aim is to guide and assess the development of knowledge and skills relating to paediatric first aid.

This qualification is for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide first aid to children (including babies) when dealing with, an emergency situation, a chronic or sudden paediatric illness or paediatric injury.

Mental Health First Aid
Mental ill health costs UK employers £34.9 billion each year. Healthy people are happier, more engaged and more productive. Employers across the UK are acting now to support the wellbeing of their people and create mentally healthy businesses.

Stress, anxiety and depression are the biggest cause of sickness absence in our society. Mental ill health is responsible for 91 million working days lost every year.

Mental Health First Aiders
Our two day course qualifies successful delegates as a Mental Health First Aider. Mental Health First Aiders share an in depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing.

Delegates on this course learn the practical skills required to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues. It is suitable for those who want to gain the necessary skills to have a non-judgmental conversation, recognise the signs and symptoms of common workplace mental health issues and effectively guide a person towards the right support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix. This is achieved through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions, each session is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan. Everyone who completes the course gets an MHFA manual to keep and refer to whenever they need it, and a certificate to say they are a Mental Health First Aider.

Mental Health First Aid - MHFA Champion
This one day course is suitable for those wishing to take a proactive approach to dealing with mental health issues in the workplace, to complement the role of a Mental Health First Aider/s in larger organisations or, in smaller workplaces successful delegates maybe the only trained support.

Delegates learn how to identify the common mental health symptoms and learn how to act upon them. Our one day mental health awareness and skills course qualifies you as an Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Champion. Delegates will be equipped with an understanding of common mental health issues, knowledge and confidence to advocate for mental health awareness, ability to spot signs of mental ill health and skills to support positive wellbeing. Through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions, the course is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan. Every delegate who completes the course gets an MHFA manual to keep and refer to whenever they need it, and a certificate to say they are an MHFA Champion. Mental Health First Aid - Mental Health Aware

Delegates gain an understanding of what mental health is and how to challenge stigma. They will take away the basic knowledge of some of the common mental health issues. This course provides an introduction for delegates to look after their own mental health and wellbeing.
