First Aid at Work - Requalification

  Course Will Enable Learners To:

This course is designed for people to refresh the skills they previously learned on the first aid at work course and renew their first aid certificate for another three years.

Review and update knowlegde on the;

• Understand the role of the first aider including infection control and recording incidents.
• Primary and secondary surveys
• Administration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), diagnosis of cardiac arrest if a victim is unresponsive
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure), choking, wounded, bleeding or suffering from shock.
• Causes of unconsciousness
• Safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
• Safe and efficient use of protective devices including face masks.
• Spinal Recovery Position
• Correct application of support slings and elevated slings
• Anaphylaxis

  Assessment:

Assessment consists of;

• 9 x practical assessments
• 3 x theory assessments (multiple choice question papers)
• Continuous formative assessment conducted throughout the course.

  Certification / Qualification:

On successful completion of this course delegates will receive a Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work. This is an Ofqual regulated qualification which is valid for three years.

  Daily Programme:

This course takes two days (12 Hours) to complete and runs 09:00 - 16:00 both days.

Public courses open for individual or multiple delegate bookings take place at our Education Centre in Team Valley Trading Estate, Newcastle upon Tyne. These can be booked online
