First aiders who hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate are strongly advised by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to undertake Annual Skills Update training to maintain basic skills and to keep up to date with any changes.
This course revisits the basics to top-up the skills of first aiders, providing them with the opportunity to practice and update their knowledge, build expertise and confidence, as well as refreshing practical skills.

Candidates are continuously assessed by North East Ambulance Service trainers throughout the course.
On successful completion of this course delegates will receive a North East Ambulance Service approved Annual Skills Update certificate, valid for one year.
The course takes three hours to complete and runs 09:00 - 12:00 or 13:00 - 16:00.
Public courses open for individual or multiple delegate bookings, take place at our Education Centre in Team Valley Trading Estate, Newcastle upon Tyne. These can be booked online
