First aiders who hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate are strongly advised by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to undertake Annual Skills Update training to maintain basic skills and to keep up to date with any changes.
This course revisits the basics to top-up the skills of first aiders, providing them with the opportunity to practice and update their knowledge, build expertise and confidence, as well as refreshing practical skills.

Candidates are continuously assessed by North East Ambulance Service trainers throughout the course.
On successful completion of this course candidates will receive a North East Ambulance Service approved Annual Skills Update certificate which is valid for one year.
The course will generally start at 09.00 and finish at 12.00.
Public courses open to individiual delegate bookings take place at our dedicated training centre at West Denton, Newcastle upon Tyne.
