Mental ill health costs UK employers £34.9 billion each year. Healthy people are happier, more engaged and more productive. Employers across the UK are acting now to support the wellbeing of their people and create mentally healthy businesses.
Mental Health First Aiders share an in depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing.
Delegates on this course learn the practical skills required to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues. It is suitable for those who want to gain the necessary skills to have a non-judgmental conversation, recognise the signs and symptoms of common workplace mental health issues and effectively guide a person towards the right support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix.
This is achieved through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions, each session is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan.
Delegates who sucessfully complete the course get a MHFA manual to keep and refer to whenever they need it, and a certificate to say they are a Mental Health First Aider from Mental Health First Aid England.
This course takes three hours to complete and runs 09:00 - 12:00 or 13:00 - 16:00.
Public courses open for individual or multiple delegate bookings take place at our Education Centre in Team Valley Trading Estate, Newcastle upon Tyne.
