Restart a Heart

Today is Restart a Heart Day, which aims to teach members of the public how to help restart the heart of someone who has suffered a cardiac arrest. So what better time to think about your workplace and if it’s equipped to save a life.

A cardiac arrest can happen to anyone at any time but it’s possible to survive and recover if you get the right treatment quickly.

Having an automated external defibrillator (AED) in your workplace, and knowing how to use it, can dramatically increase the chances of survival if a casualty’s heart stops beating - but it must be used promptly.
