Andy joined us in 2005 having previously enjoyed a successful career in the manufacturing industry. He has over ten years experience in delivering training, including complex courses to meet the needs of clients from within the NHS, Government organisations and private enterprise.

He delivers a wide range of training courses from First Aid through to Certificates in 'Assessing Vocational Achievement' and 'Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Process and Practices'.  He expands his teaching portfolio regularly taking on new challenges and working hard to keep us informed.

He has run medical operations in Afghanistan as part of his TA duties, where he currently holds the position W02 Medical within the Queens Own Yeomanry - liaising closely with various members of the training teams in the development, co-ordination and evaluation of all aspects of medical training.

He was an integral part of the training team who won an award from the Academic Health Science Network in recognition of the first aid training we delivered to care homes in our region.

Andy is an extremely popular member of the team amongst colleagues and delegates.


Anthony Brockbank

Tony joined NEAS as a trainer in 2012 after a successful 33 year career in the Royal Air Force (RAF).

Whilst in the RAF Tony was responsible for the planning, organisation and training of up to 900 personnel annually in weapons combat first aid, survival skills and chemical warfare drills.

He was an integral part of the training team who won an award from the Academic Health Science Network in recognition of the first aid training we delivered to care homes in our region.

Tony now specialises in First Aid , MET, AED, CPR and Falls Response training.  Tony's experience and knowledge makes him an extremely valuable member of the team, popular with colleagues and delegates.


Malcolm Leech

Malcolm is one of our longest-serving team members, having started with us in 2003. He has over ten years of experience as an operational Emergency Care Assistant (ECA).

Prior to joining us Malcolm worked in training and security at Newcastle Airport for over 15 years.

He was an integral part of the training team who won an award from the Academic Health Science Network in recognition of the first aid training we delivered to care homes in our region.

Malcom now delivers First Aid, Trauma and Falls Response training. Over the past few years he has delivered our Immediate Emergency Care (IEC) course to fire and rescue services throughout the North East and Cumbria. He is often requested to deliver training due to his fine reputation and professional experience.

Mark has worked at North East Ambulance Service for over 25 years, joining the training team after an extensive career as a paramedic.

Mark delivers a range of courses including Basic Lifesaving, Dental Emergencies and Falls Response training. He also delivers our Immediate Emergency Care (IEC) programme, which equips fire and rescue personnel, non-operational managers and community responders with a high level of medical skills meaning they can medically assist a patient until paramedics arrive.

Mark is a diligent professional with a rich set of skills accumulated from over 25 years of experience in emergency ambulance operations.  He is particularly skilled at communicating calmly and confidentally, much appreciated by his delegates.

Paul joined us after a long successful career as a registered nurse, with over 30 years of experience, specialising in providing care to patients with mental health and development needs. He enjoyed a number of responsibilities as a practitioner, including understanding training needs, developing and delivering Social Health Care NVQs, various assessor roles and working with and interpreting regulatory bodies. He held a number of management positions, including operational charge of wards and departments providing care to people with mental health problems and those with varying degrees of learning challenges.

He was an integral part of the training team who won an award from the Academic Health Science Network in recognition of the first aid training we delivered to care homes in our region.

He delivers a wide range of training courses from First Aid through to Certificates in 'Assessing Vocational Achievement' and 'Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Process and Practices'.  We receive a great deal of positive feedback from Paul’s delegates – who find his kindness and approach very successful.


Philip Brewis

Phil has worked for North East Ambulance Service for over 30 years. A qualified paramedic, Phil delivers a range of training courses across the region and throughout the UK.

He is our lead trainer for our Immediate Emergency Care (IEC) programme, which equips learners with a higher level of medical skill meaning they can medically assist a patient until paramedics arrive and then continue to assist the paramedic. He has delivered this training to the fire services, police, the Ministry of Defence and nuclear plants across the country.

In addition to this he also delivers training in a range of areas including Basic Lifesaving, CPR, AED and Anaphylaxis. 

Phil is a highly motivated and experienced Lead Trainer Paramedic with extensive operational and education experience. He also has experience of successfully leading and managing complex teams both operational and within the education environment, resulting in him being much in demand by our customers.
