Winners of the coveted Most Innovative NHS Education Provider award at the Bright Ideas in Healthcare Awards 2017 - Falls Prevention Training.
The Bright Ideas in Health Awards celebrate the achievements of frontline innovators, who rise to the challenge of sharing how, when, and where, they believe that improvements to the services provided to patients can be made. The Awards are a celebration of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. This year nearly 200 entries were received for the seven categories. We felt extremely proud to be announced finalists in the Most Innovative NHS Education Provider category for our Falls Prevention Training and then to win the award in such esteemed company, has left us utterly delighted. The project and subsequent training was supported by many members of the team here, NHS colleagues from other areas and by the care home community generally.
To find out more about the training we delivered and the results please see our earlier news article, 'Falls Training Relieves Pressure on 999 and A&E'.
The Award celebrates a lot of hard work and collaboration, special thanks must be given to (in no particular order) the Specialist Skills and Commercial Development Team at NEAS and to Vicky Evans and Gill Carton from the North East and North Cumbria, Urgent and Emergency Care Network.
In total the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) entered three categories and cemented a fabulous achievement by being announced as finalists in all three:
We were announced winners for our Falls Prevention Training and GP Direct Booking via NHS 111.
