North East Ambulance Service Education Centre

Situated in Team Valley Gateshead the Education Centre is the hub of our training for both internal staff and external customers.

The Education Centre has been designed specifically for us and will support us in our mission to deliver the highest quality training and education across the region.

Our new facility will not only train all our customers, but it will also be used to train all our employees too, including all our ambulance crews, paramedics and support staff!

It is important to us that we have all our training teams together under one roof so we can work cohesively as a team, share best practice, and support each other with the delivery of training courses and ultimately support you, our customers.

In 2022 we were ‘Good’ rating by Ofsted for our apprenticeship training and education.

Our training facility is located at 1A Dukesway Course, Team Valley, Gateshead, NE11 0PJ.

Travelling from the North

• Travel southbound on the A1
• Leave the A1 at the junction marked for Lobley Hill / Team Valley
• At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Lobley Hill Road and merge to the right-hand lane
• At the roundabout, take the third exit onto Kingsway, stay in the right-hand lane
• Take the next right turn onto Second Avenue
• Continue straight up until a sharp 90-degree bend which will take you onto Dukesway
• Continue on this road for approximately 1 mile
• Dukesway Court it on the right, you will see the Northumbria University building which is next door to North East Ambulance Service Education Centre
• Parking at the front carpark, additional car parking is at the rear of the building (come back out onto Dukesway and take the next right, through the gates between Dean Taxis and Northumbria University buildings, parking directly ahead or to the right as you come through the gates). If parking at the rear of the building, use the side walks either side of the building to walk to the front of the Education Centre and enter through main entrance.

Travelling from the South

• Travel northbound on the A1
• Leave the A1 at the junction marked for team Valley / Lamesley / Kibblesworth
• At the roundabout, take the third exit to Team Valley onto Kingsway
• At the next roundabout, take first exit onto Tenth Ave towards the retail park
• At the roundabout, take the third exit onto Dukesway
• Take the second left (road) turn onto Dukesway Court (Northumbria University building on the corner)
• The education centre is second building on the left
• Parking at the front carpark, additional car parking is at the rear of the building (come back out onto Dukesway and take the next right, through the gates between Dean Taxis and Northumbria University buildings, parking directly ahead or to the right as you come through the gates). If parking at the rear of the building, use the side walks either side of the building to walk to the front of the Education Centre and enter through main entrance.

Disabled Parking

There are two disabled parking bays at the training facility entrance, one at the front of the building and one at the rear of the building. Training takes place on the ground floor and there is ramp access available at the main entrance.

Overflow Parking

Parking at the front carpark, additional car parking is at the rear of the building (come back out onto Dukesway and take the next right, through the gates between Dean Taxis and Northumbria University buildings, parking directly ahead or to the right as you come through the gates). If parking at the rear of the building, use the sidewalks either side of the building to walk to the front of the Education Centre and enter through main entrance.
