  Course Overview:

This course provides you with the ability to give someone potentially lifesaving treatment through cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). It also covers anaphylaxis which is a severe reaction to an allergen and is potentially life threatening. Common causes include insect stings, food and certain medicines and it should always be treated as a medical emergency.

This course is suitable for workplace first aiders, teachers, if you or your staff administer drugs or medications (for example influenza vaccinations) or if you employ staff with diagnosed allergenic problems.


  Course Will Enable Learners To:

  • Understand the mechanics of anaphylaxis.
  • Identify risk groups.
  • Understand the trigger factors.
  • Understand signs and symptoms to be aware of.
  • Administer basic life support.
  • Administer auto injector.
  • Learn the recovery position.


  Assessment:

Candidates are continuously assessed by North East Ambulance Service trainers throughout the course.


  Certification / Qualification:

On successful completion of this course candidates will receive a North East Ambulance Service approved CPR and Anaphylaxis certificate which is valid for one year.


  Venue Information:

Training is carried out at your place of work.
