Course Overview:
The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work.
The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work is designed for learners intending to act as a First Aider in the workplace. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide first aid for voluntary and community activities. This qualification will provide all the required first aid skills necessary to manage a patient that is not breathing normally, is unconscious, bleeding or is ill or injured prior to the arrival of the emergency services.
It covers a wide range of first aid emergencies including heart attack, stroke, epilepsy and asthma. It also provides practical experience with scenarios and role play to build knowledge and confidence.
