Safer Moving and Handling (Objects) - Low Risk

  Course Overview:

Moving and handling is the lifting, lowering, carrying, supporting, moving, pulling or pushing of a load by hand or body force. This half day course aims to provide delegates with a systematic planned approach to ‘Statutory and Mandatory’ Training. Introducing or updating delegates with the basic knowledge of workplace health and safety accordance with UK regulations, spinal awareness and principles of safer moving and handling.

Safer moving and handling training should be provided at induction and regularly updated thereafter. Correct training reduces the potential for injury and in doing so reduces the potential for claims, absenteeism and many other business costs. Approximately 40% of the population in the UK are affected by back pain each year and 50 million working days are lost each year due to back problems. Safer moving and handling training will not only help delegates avoid injury at work but also gain skills that can be used in everyday life.

The half day course is more suited to low risk environments for medium to high risk the full day course is more appropriate. You can combine this training with one of our other courses and receive a cost saving, for example ‘Fire Safety’ or ‘Automatic External Defibrillator’ (AED).
