Emergency Paediatric First Aid

  Course Will Enable Learners To:

The purpose of the  Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid qualification is to provide learners with the skills, knowledge and understanding required to provide appropriate care and manage life threatening conditions, minor illness and injuries;

• Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider.
• Be able to assess an emergency situation safely.
• Be able to provide first aid to an infant/child who is unresponsive and breathing normally.
• Be able to provide first aid for an infant / child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally
• Be able to provide first aid for an infant and a child who is choking.
• Be able to provide first aid to an infant and a child with external bleeding.
• Be able to provide first aid to an infant and a child who is suffering from shock.
• Understand how to administer first aid to an infant and a child with bites, stings and minor injuries.

  Assessment:

ssessment consists of;

• 3 x practical assessments
• 1 x theory assessment (multiple choice question paper)
• Continuous formative assessment conducted throughout the course.

  Certification / Qualification:

On successful completion of the course delegates will receive a Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid. This is an Ofqual regulated qualification which is valid for three years.

  Daily Programme:

This course takes six hours to complete and runs 09:00 - 16:00.

Public courses open for individual or multiple delegate bookings take place at our dedicated Education Centre in Team Valley Trading Estate, Newcastle upon Tyne.
